For us, the focus was on seizing the chance to build anew and establish a solid foundation once more. The question was whether we could put the right framework in place with a new coach and capitalize on an opportunity to construct something from a position of strength. We aspired to shape a roster that would make our city proud, that would reflect well on our franchise, and that would position us to be consistently competitive. Our aim was to create a sustainable model of competition—one that would enable us to reach and maintain a high level of play year after year, ensuring that the team remains relevant, resilient, and capable of challenging for championships over the long term. By focusing on strategic development, player integration, and a clear vision for the organization, we intended to foster an environment where growth happens organically and the trajectory points upward, season after season. The ultimate goal was to build a culture that endures beyond individual seasons, underpinned by a roster built for sustained success, rigorous work, and unwavering commitment to excellence. We believed that with the right leadership, a thoughtful approach to talent evaluation, and a disciplined plan for development, we could create a framework that not only elevates our performance in the immediate future but also lays the groundwork for continued relevance and competitiveness across multiple campaigns. This would enable us to compete at the highest level consistently, maintaining a standard of play that excites our fan base, honors the franchise’s legacy, and reinforces our standing as a formidable contender in the league year after year. The objective was clear: establish a durable, principled approach to building a championship-ready program, one that endures through coaching changes, roster shifts, and the evolving dynamics of the league, while staying true to the core values that define our organization. We envisioned a steady progression—an ascent built on strong recruitment, intelligent development, cohesive team culture, and strategic execution—that would translate into meaningful, on-court success and a competitive spirit that permeates every facet of the franchise. In sum, the plan was to leverage the opportunity presented by a new coaching leadership to construct a robust, resilient, and sustainable framework for success—one that would not only place us among the league’s elite but also ensure that our competitiveness is a constant across seasons, ultimately making our city and our franchise proud.
