Jordan Love makes the NFL Top 100, but a teammate is upset about it

Jordan Love has earned a spot on the NFL’s annual Top 100 Players list once again, but not everyone is thrilled with the placement. The NFL’s ranking of players from 80 through 71 was revealed on Friday, July 10, and Love, who quarterbacks the Green Bay Packers, landed at No. 72. This marks Love’s third consecutive year appearing on the Top 100, yet his position has slipped each season: he was No. 34 in 2024, dropped to No. 68 in 2025, and now sits at No. 72 this year.
The ranking sparked a strong reaction from Packers defensive end Micah Parsons, who defended Love with a pointed post on X on July 10, stating, “71 players in the NFL aren’t better than Jordan Love!” While Love’s total passing yards—3,381—and 23 touchdown passes were down from the two previous seasons, he played 17 games in 2023 and 15 in 2024 and 2025. Despite the lower totals, he posted his best numbers in several efficiency categories: a career-high completion percentage at 66.3, a QBR of 72.7, and a passer rating of 101.2, along with his fewest interceptions in a season, six, last year. In other words, by several advanced metrics, Love delivered a career-best efficiency year even as the raw passing totals declined.
Love ranked third in the NFL in QBR and sixth in passer rating among qualified quarterbacks. So far this year, only one other Packers player has appeared on the Top 100: running back Josh Jacobs, who came in at No. 74. Jacobs appears on the list for a second consecutive year, after being No. 33 last season when listed as a Packer. It’s anticipated that Parsons and safety Xavier McKinney will also be included in the Top 100, given their statuses last season—McKinney at No. 30 and Parsons at No. 36. The Top 100 is an annual preseason list, compiled through votes by active players from the previous season. The initial segment—covering players ranked 100 through 91—was released on June 22, with subsequent batches of 10 announced each week. The final set of 10 concludes the week of Aug. 24 through Sept. 4, with weekday reveals.
This piece originally appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, highlighting Jordan Love’s inclusion on the NFL Top 100 and the mixed reaction from a notable teammate. The focus remains on Love’s continued presence in the Top 100, despite ongoing debate about where he should be ranked and the conversations it sparks across the Packers’ locker room.
