​CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana: Jorge Prado’s move to KTM has been immensely successful in 2026 with podium finishes to bracket the Monster Energy Supercross season and four second-place results in Pro Motocross.In a season dominated by Hunter and Jett Lawrence, second has been the best anyone other than the brothers have finished.But after posting the fastest time in qualification for the 450 division in the Ironman Nationals, Prado has a chance to change the mathematical equation in the championship battle.Just don’t call him a spoiler.”My goal for tomorrow is to win,” Prado told NBC Sports on Friday before the Press Day ride. “I will give my hundred percent to end up the season with at least a moto win. That’s my goal. “It’s pretty clear.”Prado has his best opportunity to win one of the two motos—perhaps even the overall. With one point separating them, neither Hunter nor Jett can afford to take any chances.That opens the door for Prado to be a more aggressive.He doesn’t intend to take advantage of their situation. For that matter, he probably doesn’t have to.”I think I will approach the same way I approach it every round, but I will put myself a little bit extra pressure just because it’s the last round and I really want to end the season with an overall,” Prado said. “So I will really try my best to get that overall win.”Prado got off to a strong start Saturday morning. He posted the fastest lap in the combined qualification sessions.Prado’s time of 2:07.630 was two-tenths of a second faster than Hunter (2:07.835); Jett’s time (2:07.915) was in the same second range. Race conditions will further reduce that margin, but the difference could boil down to who wants to win the most. And in that regard, Prado should be considered an equal challenger to the championship contenders.
