The Indianapolis Colts will have several players returning from various injuries and taking part in the team’s joint practice on Tuesday with the New England Patriots.According to The Athletic’s James Boyd, Josh Downs (groin), Justin Walley (hamstring), Hunter Wohler (hamstring), and Laquon Treadwell (hamstring) are all practicing.#Colts WR Josh Downs (groin), CB Justin Walley (hamstring), S Hunter Wohler (hamstring) and WR Laquon Treadwell (hamstring) are practicing today.— James Boyd (@RomeovilleKid) August 11, 2026Downs had missed the previous two days, but the injury was not severe, with Shane Steichen mentioning on Sunday that he could participate in Tuesday’s practice.Downs is expected to see more opportunities this season. With Michael Pittman in Pittsburgh, Downs, Pierce, and Tyler Warren will shoulder the workload when it comes to making up for his absence. But along with more potential targets, how Downs is utilized in Steichen’s offense could change as well, with more reps lined up outside possibly coming his way.Wohler had been shouldering the starting strong safety reps next to Cam Bynum early in training camp, but in his absence, AJ Haulcy has filled that role. We will see if Wohler slides back into that starting role right away or if it remains with Haulcy.Treadwell had been seeing regular first-team reps at wideout in Alec Pierce’s absence. He and Ashton Dulin seemed to be the front-runners for the WR3 role.Lastly, Walley took part in individual drills on Sunday, but not the team period. The team was being cautious. This article originally appeared on Colts Wire: Josh Downs, other Colts players return for joint practice v. Patriots
