Kapaun stifles Carroll for fourth straight Holy War win

   ​WICHITA, KAN. (KSNW) — Kapaun nearly notched a shutout as it defeated Bishop Carroll 14-6 on Friday in KSN’s Game of the Week, marking its fourth consecutive Holy War win.The Crusaders struck first, scoring a touchdown in the middle of the first quarter to take a 7-0 halftime lead. They then doubled the lead with a touchdown early in the third quarter.The Golden Eagles avoided the shutout with their first touchdown midway through the fourth. But Kapaun registered the game-sealing turnover with two minutes remaining in the game.
Friday Football Fever: Week 6 scores and highlights Kapaun lost 26 consecutive games to Carroll before their four-game win streak in the series. The Crusader senior class has not lost to the Golden Eagles.”When you lose 26 in a row before that, now when they go to the 10-year reunion, they can waltz around and say, ‘we never lost to Carroll during a regular season,'” Kapaun head coach Weston Schartz said. “We may seem a playoffs, so who knows what would happen there, but so far so good.”This marks the third straight week Kapaun held its opponent to six points or fewer.The Crusaders (6-0) visit Liberal next week, while Carroll (5-1) heads to Wichita East.No matter what team you root for, KSN has you covered, from professional to high school sports.
