McAfee likened the risks he faced at the school to that of Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated at Utah Valley University last year. Later, a report surfaced indicating that McAfee was contacted by the FBI after Kirk’s death. The incident clearly startled McAfee, and his experience at Utah reignited those fears. But in an episode of her podcast released Wednesday, Nolan chided McAfee for acting “irresponsibly” and then shouting down his critics at every turn.“The guy is winning in every sense of the word, and yet is constantly acting like the world is attacking him baselessly,” she said. “He acts irresponsibly, but then wants everyone to be responsible for his emotional well-being, and to take care of him.”Nolan contrasted how ESPN and McAfee’s audience reacts to his sensitivity with how she has been received by sports fans in some of her previous roles, such as a stint in Apple TV’s MLB booth.“If I ever invoked an assassination, and I’m a sensitive baby b*tch. The problem, she said, is that he seems to want more influence and acclaim without the disagreement that comes with it.“When Pat adds to a broadcast, he really can. He’s got a lot of energy, and in an industry that’s usually full of old-guard guys, it’s good to have that youthful energy injected,” she explained. “He doesn’t have to be for me. It’s this also needing to be able to do it without anyone saying anything mean, ever, about anything that he does.”Nolan added that she does not buy that the FBI’s warning last year was legit.“I don’t mean to make light of someone’s fear, I just feel like it is [an] irrational fear,” she said. “Because now I know it’s Kash Patel in charge, so it’s that guy who got drunk with the hockey team in the locker room, not like an actual head of the FBI.”Many would argue that even McAfee’s most controversial actions fall far short of anything that should make him feel unsafe in public. Still, the ESPN star’s
