The Kentucky Wildcats stays scorching hot on the recruiting trail, as this time they have landed a commitment from Indianapolis four-star linebacker Sean Fox over the Clemson Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. Fox seemed to be a heavy Clemson lean throughout the process, but after his official visit to Kentucky things quickly flipped in the Wildcats favor. Fox is one of the top linebackers in the 2027 recruiting cycle, as he ranks as the 10th best linebacker according to 247Sports. According to Rivals, Fox is the 20th ranked linebacker in the class.
Fox is one of the highest rated prospects in Kentucky’s class. At 6’5, 225-pounds, Fox is a relentless playmaker that can be an off ball linebacker or transition to edge at the next level, he has made plays all over the field in high school. He has active hands to defeat blocks in the run game, and has knack for forcing fumbles when getting his hands on ball carriers. Fox can also use his long arms to his advantage to disrupt passing windows in coverage.
When searching for an off ball linebacker, it is difficult to find guys of Fox’s mold at 6’5, with excellent length and great closing speed. Fox also has shown flashes on the edge, using his active hands to get to quarterbacks in a hurry. His ability to use his hands at this stage and combined with his large frame will give him the opportunity to be a phenomenal blitzer or make the switch to a hybrid edge for Kentucky. Fox has a rare blend of size, aggression and length for a front seven defender, making this another big time recruiting win for Will Stein and his coaching staff.
