Mandatory Credit: Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect Congratulations are in order for two-time All-EuroLeague point guard Kevin Pangos, who has announced his retirement from basketball at the age of 33 on Instagram.Pangos is highly regarded as one of the greatest lead guards to ever come through Europe. He was named to the All-EuroCup Second Team in 2016 with Gran Canaria, the All-EuroLeague Second Team in 2018 with Zalgiris Kaunas, and the All-EuroLeague First Team in 2021 with FC Barcelona. The 6-1 floor leader competed professionally in the countries of Spain, Lithuania, Russia, Italy, and Istanbul. The native of Holland Landing, Ontario, Canada, was also awarded the 2014-15 West Coast Conference Player of the Year honor and listed on the Associated Press’ All-American Third Team in 2015. Per a source from SB Nation’s AZ Desert Swarm, Pangos is joining the Arizona Wildcats and coach Tommy Lloyd’s staff as assistant coach Ken Nakagawa’s replacement. Nakagawa is moving on to the G League’s Salt Lake Stars, the affiliate of the Utah Jazz, as an assistant coach.
