The Cowboys are often referred to as “America’s Team.”It’s a popular nickname for the club that goes back decades. But this week, according to Lamar Jackson, that doesn’t matter.Ahead of the Cowboys’ international showdown with the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore’s superstar quarterback was asked about the fact Dallas is known as “America’s Team.””This is America,” Jackson said to reporters in Baltimore with a smile and a chuckle. “That’s Brazil. We’ll see.”Jackson, a two-time MVP, presents a significant challenge for the Cowboys’ evolving defense. Dallas has struggled mightily to defend the run through two games and Jackson’s mobility combined with future Hall of Fame running back Derrick Henry figures to be an issue for the Cowboys. The matchup is Dallas’ first international game in 12 years, a 2014 bout with the Jaguars in London. The Cowboys and Ravens will kick off at Maracaña Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday at 3:25 p.m.SubscribeSign up for the Morning Roundup, a free newsletter delivering the latest North Texas news each morning. This article originally published at Lamar Jackson jabs at Cowboys’ ‘America’s Team’ moniker: ‘This is America, that’s Brazil’.
