​Lane Kiffin knows he left an impact on the Ole Miss Rebels program after finishing his return game following the No. 7 LSU Tigers’ 32-24 defeat on Saturday night.The Week 3 clash was a blockbuster. Kiffin left the Rebels after six seasons, leaving in 2025 despite them making the College Football Playoffs. He took the opportunity to coach at LSU, who fired Brian Kelly to go after Kiffin.This sparked controversy since with Kiffin seeking greener pastures despite achieving a lot with the Rebels. Kiffin got to look back on his stint with the program, being thankful for how it benefitted him on and off the field.“It was just really a lot of emotions of gratefulness for this place, and the six years went well beyond football. Kind of the first time coming into this type of game without my dad. It was a lot and was really emotional. But it was not emotions maybe that I thought I would have felt from all to name calling, everything when we got off the bus and everything. LSU tried fighting back in the second half, but couldn’t create enough big plays to complete the comeback.Sam Leavitt dealt with injury ahead of the game but still started. He completed 16 out of 27 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown and an interception while racking up 17 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown.Dilin Jones led the rushing attack, finishing with 23 carries for 106 yards and touchdown. Trey’Dez Green caught four passes for 60 yards, while Winston Watkins Jr. made three receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown.The No. 7 Tigers will look to bounce back in their next matchup, being at home.
