Lazio Enquire About Croatian Midfielder Wanted at Fulham During Dominguez Meeting

Lazio are reportedly monitoring Luka Stojkovic, the Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder who has drawn interest from several European clubs, including Fulham. In a bid to explore options, Lazio’s sporting director Angelo Fabiani traveled to Split on Thursday for talks with Dinamo Zagreb officials. The primary focus of these discussions was Sergi Dominguez, a young Spanish defender who had emerged as Lazio’s preferred candidate to replace Mario Gila after Gila’s sale to AC Milan. According to Il Messaggero, the two clubs made progress in talks and closed part of the gap, but a final agreement for the 21-year-old defender remains unresolved. Dinamo Zagreb reportedly lowered their asking price to €12 million, yet Lazio are sticking with a fixed offer in the €9-10 million range and proposing to cover the remainder through performance-related bonuses.
Fabiani also used the opportunity to inquire about Stojkovic, a creative midfielder who has attracted strong admiration from Gennaro Gattuso. Lazio’s interest comes after missing out on Jonathan Asp Jensen, who is headed to Deportivo La Coruña after a move away from Bayern Munich, leaving the Biancocelesti in the market for alternative options. However, securing Stojkovic promises to be a challenge. The 22-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign that has sparked widespread interest, tallying 13 goals and 12 assists in the previous season and playing a pivotal role in Dinamo’s domestic double triumph.
Reports indicate that Fulham and Bologna are also pursuing the versatile midfielder, intensifying the competition for his signature. The prospect of signing Stojkovic is further complicated by Dinamo’s valuation of around €10 million and the terms of his contract, which runs until June 2028. With such a price tag and several interested parties, Lazio face a tough negotiation to bring the Zagreb native to Rome. The challenge is heightened by Stojkovic’s recent form and his crucial contribution to Dinamo’s domestic success, factors that have clearly raised his stock across Europe. As Lazio weigh their options, fans and analysts will be watching whether Fabiani can broker an agreement that satisfies Dinamo’s asking price while offering Lazio a compelling path to strengthen their midfield.
