Less money but more reach: New $120m Bundesliga media deal in US

   ​Germany’s Bundesliga is set for a new broadcast deal in the United States which will generate less money but will reach more people.Dpa has learnt that the Versant Media Group and Spanish language Telemundo will pay $120 million for a five-year deal 2026-2031. The New York Times and Sport Bild have also reported this imminant deal.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe $24 million per season are less than the $30 million the German league received from previous partner ESPN.But while only selected matches were broadcast via ESPN+, Versant plans to offer all games via USA Network and streaming service Fandango.The Bundesliga hope for value growth in the long run this way.The league also has contracts in central and South America where its new deals are more lucrative than past ones. In all, the Bundesliga has earned around $215 million over five years from broadcast deals in the Americas.
