​WESTFIELD — LIV Golf has cancelled its final tournament of the season in Michigan, making this week’s event at The Club at Chatham Hills not only the individual championship finale, but the team championship finale for the league. On Monday, LIV also cancelled the Thomas Rhett concert scheduled for Friday “due to unavoidable changes in the entertainment program for LIV Golf Indianapolis,” the league said.The Westfield event, which begins Thursday, was originally a 4-day tournament to crown LIV’s individual champion. The team champion was planned to be named at the Aramco LIV Golf Michigan at The Cardinal at Saint John’s Resort later this month.The league cancelled that event and “informed Thomas Rhett and Disco Lines that their live musical performances will no longer take place,” LIV said in a statement. “LIV Golf recognizes the disappointment these changes may bring for fans … and appreciates the significant time and effort invested by the artists and their teams.” Ticket holders for the Michigan event will receive refunds. Ticket holders for Westfield can find more information here.LIV, a breakaway competitor to the PGA Tour, which features players such as Bryson DeChambeau, John Rahm, Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith and Phil Mikelson, announced earlier this month that it had secured funding with a lead investor “which will play a key role in supporting the path forward for the league’s next era, driven by and for the players.”In its statement at the time, LIV confirmed the remainder of the 2026 season would play out, including the Westfield event Aug. 20-23 and LIV’s final tournament in Michigan Aug. 27-30.”By concluding the season now, we can put our full resources behind what comes next and maintain the operational rigor this transition demands,” LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil said Monday in a statement. “We are reimagining LIV Golf as a fundamentally new league owned by the players and anchored in a sustainable business model, with an evolved fan experience.”At Westfield’s four-day stroke play event, 57 players will contend for the Indianapolis individual title and final spots in the league’s individual season-long standings. The team competition will count the scores of all four players on each team every day, culminating with one of the 13 teams being crowned the 2026 LIV Golf Team Champion. Tickets for the LIV Golf Indianapolis 2026 Championships are available at LIVGolf.com.
