Former LSU baseball pitcher Jaden Noot has found a new home in the Pac-12, transferring to San Diego State as announced by the team on Thursday. After more than a month in the transfer portal, Noot has his next destination set for the 2026 season. As a redshirt junior in 2026, Noot appeared in two starts and eight relief appearances. The right-handed pitcher earned occasional spot starts but was primarily employed as a high-leverage reliever during his time with LSU.
Noot spent four years in Baton Rouge, redshirting his first season while recovering from Tommy John surgery before making a single appearance in April 2024. His most productive year in purple and gold came in 2025, when he played a key role in LSU’s run to the national championship. In that season, he logged 20 appearances, including five starts, and recorded a 4.13 ERA with 44 strikeouts over 32.2 innings pitched. He delivered a crucial, scoreless relief inning against Arkansas in the College World Series. He also contributed postseason outings against Little Rock and Ole Miss, including a start in the SEC Tournament where he limited Ole Miss to one earned run over four innings.
Losing Noot is a setback for LSU’s bullpen in terms of depth and experience, but the Tigers have shown an ability to attract high-ceiling pitchers via the transfer portal. The departure leaves a gap in innings and late-inning reliability, yet LSU’s program has continued to recruit players who can impact results at the highest levels of college baseball.
