LSU baseball will welcome six top-100 high school signees to campus for the 2027 season after the MLB Draft was kind to the Tigers. LSU still took some hits, but according to PerfectGame’s prospect rankings, six top-100 recruits announced plans to attend LSU, passing up the professional ranks for now.The most notable player to confirm his intent to play at LSU is outfielder Malachi Washington. He ranks No. 28 in the class and was drafted in the 18th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Soon thereafter, he made a post to social media announcing he was staying true to his pledge.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOutfielder Nate Davis and left-handed pitcher Lucas Nawrocki withdrew their names from the draft ahead of the first day. Scouts regard Davis, who ranks No. 34 in the class, as an exceptional left-handed hitter with speed on the base paths. Nawrocki ranks No. 50 and boasts a fastball that touches 95 mph as well as a slider and changeup.Cooper Sides (No. 83 overall) and Parker Loew (No. 97) went undrafted and will don the purple and gold in 2027. Sides affirmed his intentions with a social media post at the completion of the draft. There’s a chance this number grows, too. Anthony Murphy, ranked as the No. 39 prospect by PerfectGame, was drafted by the Washington Nationals late on Sunday. Murphy will have a decision to make pending negotiations with the Nationals and LSU.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis article originally appeared on LSU Wire: LSU baseball will officially welcome six top 100 high school recruits
