As the football season nears, Madden unveils its latest edition, priming fans for the 2026 campaign. Madden is a cornerstone of the gaming world, and nothing signals elite status quite like a 99 rating. Known as the “99 Club,” this exclusive group receives Madden’s highest overall rating, a badge of honor earned through a player’s previous season performances. For some, a 99 validates years of hard work and production; for others, it confirms a continued reign atop the league. These players are hailed by Madden as the NFL’s elite entering the upcoming season.
Here’s a look at who secured the coveted 99 rating in Madden 27. Six players reportedly earned 99 overall: Stafford headlines the club for the first time, riding a career-best campaign that earned him his first MVP trophy. The Rams quarterback led the league with 4,707 passing yards and 46 passing touchdowns, all while being 37 years old. Stafford is back in Los Angeles for another run at a Super Bowl, with what could be his final chapters added to a storied career as he continues to collect hardware.
Allen sits among the sport’s elite for a second consecutive season, earning a 99 rating. The Bills signal-caller may not have claimed MVP last year, but he still posted an outstanding year with 39 total touchdowns and guided Buffalo to the playoffs. Allen’s gameplay translates to Madden’s engine as well as any quarterback’s, often delivering plays that feel like they were pulled from a video game itself. He turned 30 in May and is poised to attempt another run at a championship with the Bills.
The Rams are the only team with two 99 club members, and their second entrant is the franchise’s latest addition. In a bold move, Los Angeles acquired Myles Garrett, bringing the league’s premier pass rusher to the West Coast in a blockbuster exchange. Garrett then broke the NFL sack record with 23 sacks and captured his second Defensive Player of the Year award. This marks the third time in five years that Garrett has earned a 99 rating, and he’s barely dipped below 98 since Madden 21.
Smith-Njigba emerged as the breakout star of the 2025 season, leading the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards, along with 119 receptions and 10 touchdowns. That production propelled him to win the Offensive Player of the Year award and secured his inaugural 99 rating. He joins the club after a season of record-breaking performances that redefined the potential of a breakout receiver.
