Man Utd and Liverpool want Gomes – Sunday’s gossip

   ​Manchester United and Liverpool have both opened discussions over a potential transfer for Wolves’ Brazilian midfielder Joao Gomes, 25, following a failed move to Atletico Madrid. Chelsea, meanwhile, have begun talks with Bologna’s English winger Jonathan Rowe, 23, as they anticipate the possible departure of Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho, 22, from the club. In the United States, MLS side Sporting Kansas City are reportedly pursuing an ambitious plan to recruit Mohamed Salah, 34, on a free transfer after his exit from Liverpool.
Several other clubs are also showing interest in prominent players: Coventry City and West Ham are among teams monitoring Bodo/Glimt’s 24-year-old midfielder Patrick Berg after his World Cup displays for Norway; Everton are eyeing Newcastle United’s 31-year-old winger Jacob Murphy, who has one year left on his deal at St James’ Park; Real Madrid have arranged a meeting with Vinicius Jr to discuss a possible contract renewal amid whispers they might consider selling the Brazil forward, 25; Paris Saint-Germain have sounded out Spain and Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, 26, should winger Bradley Barcola depart this summer.
Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign Karim Adeyemi, 24, the Germany forward from Borussia Dortmund. The agent for Roma attacking midfielder Matias Soule is in talks with Sunderland and Fulham about a potential move for the 23-year-old Argentine. Former Hull City loanee Oscar Zambrano looks set to return to the club from Slovenian side Maribor; the 22-year-old Ecuador midfielder’s previous stint in 2024 was interrupted by a drugs ban.
Nottingham Forest have initiated contact with Fiorentina regarding a potential move for Brazilian right-back Dodo, 27. Fulham have agreed to sign Celtic winger Erskine Rennie, 16, with the English academy product expected to cost around £100,000 in compensation. As the transfer gossip swirls, Salah’s rumored Saudi switch continues to cast doubt over his Premier League future.
