Marc Bernal has become the latest figure from Barcelona to weigh in on the growing chatter surrounding Julian Alvarez, confessing that he would welcome the Argentine striker at Camp Nou. The ongoing Julian Alvarez to Barcelona saga remains a prominent topic, with Barcelona staying attentive to the Atletico Madrid forward’s situation despite resistance from their La Liga rivals. While talks are far from concluded, Bernal indicated he would be pleased to see the World Cup winner join Hansi Flick’s squad, though he emphasized that the current group is ready to compete no matter what unfolds in the transfer window.
Bernal on Alvarez Barcelona links: The summer’s big talking point has been the possibility of Alvarez moving to Barcelona, with multiple Blaugrana officials weighing in on the potential transfer. When asked about Barcelona’s interest, Bernal avoided pressuring the club but said any addition would be welcomed within the dressing room. In an interview with El Chiringuito TV, he said: “To be honest, there’s nothing I can do about it. I will be happy with whoever comes, and if no one does, we’ll fight to the bitter end with the players we have and the squad we’ve got.” Barcelona continues to watch the Argentine’s future closely, particularly after he told Atletico Madrid of his wish to depart this summer. Club president Joan Laporta has publicly confirmed that there have been contacts, further fueling speculation. Yet Atletico Madrid remain reluctant to negotiate with one of their domestic rivals, complicating any potential deal.
Bernal on the Atletico Madrid campaign: The Alvarez transfer saga took a new turn when Atletico Madrid launched a social media campaign aimed at Barcelona amid ongoing rumors linking Alvarez with a move to Catalonia. The campaign sparked widespread debate, but Bernal said he largely ignored the hype and preferred to stay out of it. “I didn’t pay much attention to them, and in the end I didn’t quite understand the situation, but I won’t get involved in anything,” he added. Despite the tension between the clubs, Barcelona remain hopeful that circumstances could swing in their favor as the transfer window progresses.
Bernal’s views on Mourinho’s Real Madrid return: In addition to weighing in on the Alvarez situation, Bernal offered his take on Jose Mourinho’s possible return to Real Madrid.
