Former NFL player Marcellus Wiley, husband of RHOBH star Annemarie Wiley, has been charged with domestic battery in Orange County, Florida. Records indicate that the 51-year-old former Buffalo Bills standout and current sportscaster was arrested and charged on Saturday, July 4, and is being held in the Orange County Jail without bond as of Sunday, July 5. Details about the incident were not immediately available. TMZ broke the initial report, and PEOPLE has sought additional comment from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Wiley has previously faced multiple allegations of sexual assault from several women. In May, Rolling Stone and PEOPLE reported that, in filings obtained by them, he faced a total of seven accusations: three from 2023 and four others dating back to the mid-1990s. The former ESPN employee alleged in court papers that Wiley assaulted her in his hotel room in 2009 after inviting her there under false pretenses. Two other accusers say he raped them between 1995 and 1999, when he was a college athlete at Columbia and just starting his NFL career with the Bills. A fourth accuser claims Wiley pursued a relationship with her when she was 13 years old. Wiley has denied these allegations, stating in a May 5 YouTube video that he plans to challenge all false claims and asserting that there are inconsistencies in the accounts. He contends that, in each case, there were communications or invitations after the events in question.
The 1997 NFL Draft selection by the Bills, Wiley spent years as a defensive end before transitioning to broadcasting. For ongoing updates on this developing crime story, PEOPLE continues to follow.
