​It’s coaches who are supposed to inspire their athletes to memorable feats, not vice versa.That wasn’t the chronological case, though, when Mercyhurst Prep girls golf coach Kathy Lynch followed Morgan Eastman’s lead last week.Each recorded holes in one during back-to-back days at separate courses.Eastman, using a utility wedge, aced Cable Hollow Golf Course’s par-3, 105-yard 13th hole during the Lakers’ Aug. 20 appearance in the Warren Invitational. The one scribbled on the senior’s scorecard also contributed to the team’s runner-up finish to the McDowell Trojans.“I (used a) club down for that shot since the air was thinner,” Eastman said. “I was so happy I did that, because otherwise I would have flown the green.”It was the second career hole in one for Eastman, whose first also was struck as a Mercyhurst starter. Witnesses included longtime friend Marlene Smith.The latter then snapped a picture of the former removing her ball from the hole on the course’s signature par-3, 128-yard 12th.“Sometimes, you think you’re close to (a hole in one),” Lynch said, “and then you find out you’re several feet away. This one definitely wasn’t an ‘Ooh, I think I got one!’ We actually thought (the ball) might have gone past the pin. We checked the back of the green first. It wasn’t there, so then I thought, ‘Well, maybe it did go in?’  “Sure enough, there was a pitch mark about a foot away (from the pin) and there the ball was in the bottom of the cup.”Lynch used a seven-iron for her second career ace.
