​The New York Mets offense went dormant on Nolan McLean night as the right-hander  threw six innings of one-hit ball but wound up losing, 4-0, as Atlanta starter Martin Perez and a trio of relievers  shut down the Mets.The tight pitchers duel early that featured nothing but early zeroes from both Martin and Perez. But the Braves finally broke through with a solo homer from Ozzie Albies in the fifth inning to make it 1-0. The Mets had a chance to counter in the sixth with runners on first and third and only one out, but a hard ground ball from Carson Benge resulted in a 4-6-3 double play to shut down the closest thing to a rally the Mets had all night. The game slowly got away from the Mets when the bullpen took over for McLean after the sixth. Jefry Yan had an adventure inning as he walked three of the five hitters he faced, but somehow he managed to get out of the mess by giving up just one run as a sacrifice fly by Mauricio Dubon gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead. Things got worse in the eighth when Chayse McDermott came out of the pen as Mets nemesis Matt Olson hit a no-doubt, two-run bomb to double Atlanta’s lead to 4-0. The bright spot was McLean, who continues to excel against the Mets’ division rivals. He now has a 2.81 ERA against the Braves, and interim manager Andy Green praised his work last night.  “I thought he bounced back early from being behind [in counts] pretty consistently,” interim manager Andy Green said in a followup from Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. “He really found his groove there for a while. Just a great six innings of work.”McLean also addressed Albies’ homer directly as he talked about the pitch he threw that didn’t come back. “It was fairly executed,” McLean said of the home run pitch. “I wasn’t trying to really punch him by any means for the strikeout there, but I would have liked it slightly more elevated. He made a good swing on a pitch that was pretty close to the outside corner, so I tip my cap.”McLean was good, but Perez was better, as he stretched his string of scoreless innings to 18. The Mets have now been shut out 13 times, which leads the majors, and New York will try to take the series finale tonight behind Zac Thornton against Tyler Mahle for the Bravos.
