Harold Landry and Brenden Schooler have been two very notable absences throughout the entire summer. The outside linebacker began the preseason on the physically unable to perform list (PUP), while Schooler is on the non-football injury list. And the two have not seen any action throughout training camp, remaining sidelined as the season opener nears. But following the New England Patriots’37-13 preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns, Mike Vrabel provided a somewhat positive and optimistic update regarding their status for September 9.“I think we’ll just continue to see when we get back,” Vrabel said. “Those guys stayed back, Brenden Schooler and Harold both stayed back, and they have to be able to pass certain things, because once you take them off, that’s kind of what it is. And so we just want to be very careful and smart with them and not force them into anything. But on the same note that if they can do and relatively perform where we expect them to, or where they expect themselves to, that could be a possibility that we could be able to bring those guys off.”Landry has been sidelined due to a knee injury he suffered last October that impacted his play throughout the remainder of the season, and he never returned to how he looked before it occurred. As for Schooler, details of why he is sidelined are unknown.
