ARLINGTON, TEXAS – AUGUST 20: A detail view of the scoreboard after Jacob deGrom #48 of the Texas Rangers threw career strikeout 2000 against the Washington Nationals during the first inning at Globe Life Field on August 20, 2026 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Ron Jenkins/Getty Images) | Getty Images This week, we asked folks if Jacob deGrom would be a Hall of Famer if he never pitched again.Only 41% of Rangers fans who responded believe that deGrom would be elected to the Hall of Fame if he never pitched in another game. That’s lower than I would have expected, though the poll went up after a really bad deGrom start, which certainly could have impacted the results. The national questions deal with the Wild Card.A majority of fans think three wild card teams is good for baseball. This year in the American League may have people a little bit skeptical, though. In the National League, folks see San Diego as the team that is most likely to get the final Wild Card spot in the National League.Meanwhile, the Astros or Rangers — whichever one doesn’t win the A.L. West — had a slim plurality as the pick for the final Wild Card spot in the American League, slightly ahead of Cleveland and Toronto. This has been brought to you by FanDuel.
