The Egyptian was recruited for his ability to perform on the European stage, but will not get the opportunity to demonstrate it following Trabzonspor’s dismal elimination.Salah, 34, wasn’t the sole former Premier League player accountable for the crushing loss. Andre Onana – on loan from Manchester United – guarded the net, while ex-Manchester City defender Stefan Savić and former Southampton forward Paul Onuachu were also included in Tekke’s starting eleven.In a shocking post-game interview, the Trabzonspor boss declared live on broadcast that he was stepping down effective immediately. “I am resigning from a very honorable position,” Tekke revealed.”Today’s defeat is unacceptable.
