Name Kyler Murray Starter Now & Other Keys to Vikings Super Bowl Run

Can the Minnesota Vikings win Super Bowl 2026? On the latest episode of The Real Forno Show, host Tyler Forness and producer Dave Stefano of Vikings 1st & SKOL break down the five critical things the Vikings must execute to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. From the quarterback controversy to red zone struggles and a young defensive line with massive upside, this episode delivers the most specific, film-grounded Vikings Super Bowl blueprint you’ll find anywhere heading into training camp.
Tyler makes the case that naming Kyler Murray the starter — sooner rather than later — is the single most important step toward a Super Bowl run: “You forego the competition. You realize Kyler gives you the best chance to win a Super Bowl in 2026, and you say, ‘Screw it, we’re just gonna go all in.’” He also champions Jordan Mason as a workhorse back under new assistant head coach Frank Smith’s creative run-game design, and identifies Jauan Jennings as the red zone weapon the Vikings have desperately needed — noting the team ranked a dismal tied-18th in red zone efficiency (56.9%) last season. On defense, Dallas Turner’s development and interior D-line pressure (targeting at least 15 sacks from the front) round out Tyler’s five-point Super Bowl checklist.

Dave adds his own list of 10 must-dos — ranging from resolving the QB situation to winning the NFC North — while Tyler pushes back on the platitudes: It “just isn’t gonna tell you that Jauan Jennings is going to be the reason why you’re better at situational football in the red zone.” The chemistry and candid debate between Tyler and Dave is exactly what Vikings fans need to cut through the noise this off-season.

Name Kyler Murray the starter now. “Kyler Murray gives us the best chance to win a Super Bowl… you gotta get him chemistry with his wide receivers, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, now Jauan Jennings.”

Make Jordan Mason the workhorse. Tyler targets 220 carries, citing Mason’s zone-running fit: “You give him 20, it’s that Derrick Henry snowball style effect.”

Fix the red zone — with Jauan Jennings. At 56.9% efficiency (tied 18th), the Vikings need a bully: “Jennings is a power forward, and he’s going to bully you and kick your ass while he boxes you out and catches the football.”

Dallas Turner must take the leap. With Jonathan Greenard gone, Turner needs to step up: “If he does, I’m not even saying he has to be a Pro Bowler… it’s gonna be a huge boon for this team.”

Interior D-line must generate 15+ sacks. “You gotta be able to win your one-on-ones, you have to be able to win your pressures, and you have to be able to hold up at the point of attack.”

Vegas has Minnesota at +5,000 — but as Tyler notes, the Vikings have historically thrived when counted out.
