NASCAR fans will have another chance this fall to come together and honor Kyle Busch’s extraordinary career. The sanctioning body announced on Friday that a public Celebration of Life for the two-time Cup Series champion will be held on Friday, October 9, at Charlotte Motor Speedway, following the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. The event will be free to attend, and NASCAR says additional information about speakers and the ceremony details will be released in the coming weeks.
Rather than a private memorial, NASCAR is opening the ceremony to the public, inviting thousands of fans to gather during one of the sport’s biggest race weekends to pay tribute to one of its most accomplished modern champions. Charlotte Motor Speedway has long stood as a central hub of the NASCAR community. Located just outside the city where many race teams, manufacturers, and NASCAR’s headquarters reside, the speedway has hosted numerous major celebrations and tributes over the years. This made Charlotte an especially fitting choice for Busch’s public Celebration of Life.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place after the Craftsman Truck Series race on October 9, during NASCAR’s fall weekend at the track. This timing will allow competitors, crew members, and fans to come together in one location to honor Busch. NASCAR has confirmed that the event will be free to attend.
Even after Busch’s passing, NASCAR continues to honor his impact on the sport with new tributes. Race weekends have featured commemorative displays, moments of remembrance, and a variety of tributes as drivers and teams reflect on one of the defining competitors of his generation. Busch retired with one of the most impressive résumés in NASCAR history. He claimed Cup Series championships in 2015 and 2019, won the 2004 Rookie of the Year award, and finished his Cup Series career with 63 victories. He also became one of the sport’s winningest drivers across NASCAR’s three national series, contributing to the development of young talent through Kyle Busch Motorsports.
The upcoming Celebration of Life stands as NASCAR’s largest public tribute to Busch to date. While some details are still forthcoming, the October 9 gathering at Charlotte Motor Speedway will offer the broader NASCAR community a prominent opportunity to come together to celebrate Busch’s life, his storied career, and his lasting influence on stock car racing. This event will serve as a fitting capstone to a remarkable era for Busch and a testament to his enduring legacy within the sport.
