The NASCAR Cup Series Chase rolls the dice at the halfway point with the South Point 400 on Oct. 4 at Las Vegas. The Chase is at the point where the true championship contenders come into focus, starting with points leader Kyle Larson. This weekend is a major opportunity for Denny Hamlin to cut into Larson’s points lead, currently at 26 points from leader to second place. Hamlin starts on the pole.Christopher Bell (-50 behind Larson) is also within range, but several other drivers need a good run (or two) to jump back into the mix.Ryan Blaney (-91), Ty Gibbs (-94), Tyler Reddick (-111) and Chase Briscoe (-123) are all at risk of being knocked out of reasonable championship contention with a bad points day, but are all able to push forward into the championship chase with a win.Follow along with the Tennessean’s NASCAR race updates below:LAS VEGAS RACE PICKS: NASCAR Las Vegas predictions 2026, expert picks for the South Point 400NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas live updates, highlights, live leaderboard for the South Point 400LIVE LEADERBOARD: Full field leaderboard of NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400Denny Hamlin on the pole; full NASCAR Cup Series Las Vegas starting lineupThe top 10:Denny Hamlin, No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing ToyotaTy Gibbs, No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing ToyotaChristopher Bell, No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing ToyotaChase Briscoe, No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing ToyotaTyler Reddick, No. 45 23XI Racing ToyotaKyle Larson, No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports ChevroletAustin Cindric, No. 2 Team Penske FordWilliam Byron, No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports ChevroletBubba Wallace, No. 23 23XI Racing ToyotaCarson Hocevar, No. 77 Spire Motorsports ChevroletFind the full starting lineup here.NASCAR race radio coverage: How to listen to NASCAR Cup race at Las VegasThe South Point 400 will be aired on the radio by the Performance Racing Network.
