Nashville Predators Add Jordan DeKort As Professional Development Goaltending Coach

The Nashville Predators have kicked off their offseason coaching changes with their first hire, announcing on Wednesday the addition of Jordan DeKort as a Professional Development Goaltending Coach. In this role, DeKort will primarily serve as the goaltending coach for the Milwaukee Admirals and the Atlanta Gladiators, collaborating closely with Nashville’s Director of Goaltending Mitch Korn and Goaltending Coach Ben Vanderklok to develop and refine the club’s crease players.
DeKort, 30, has a background that includes time in junior hockey with the Windsor Spitfires from 2011 to 2014, with brief stops with Kitchener and the Barrie Colts. As a coach, his career has largely been built within the Rangers organization, where he has worked from 2021 through 2026. During that period, he has filled several roles, including goaltending coach, Director of Goaltending, and video coach, contributing to the development of goaltenders and assisting in game-day preparation and scouting.
In addition to his work with the Rangers, DeKort has experience as a goaltending coach with the St. Michael’s Buzzers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, a Junior “A” team based in Toronto. His varied experiences in both professional and junior hockey environments have shaped his approach to goaltender development, focusing on technique, mental preparation, and in-game adaptation.
This hiring marks the fifth addition the Predators have announced this offseason and represents their first move on the coaching staff. The team has already announced several other executive-level changes: on June 5, Rob Blake joined as Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations; on June 17, Jamie Langenbrunner was named Special Assistant to the General Manager; on July 1, Dawson Sprigings was hired as an Assistant to the General Manager; and on July 7, Vukie Mpofu was brought on as an Assistant General Manager. The latest hire, Jordan DeKort, is expected to contribute to the Predators’ ongoing efforts to strengthen their goaltending development pipeline across their minor league affiliates and related programs, aligning with Nashville’s broader strategy to improve goaltender readiness and performance at all levels.
