​  The Giannis Antetokounmpo era has finally come to an end in Milwaukee after the Greek star spent the first 13 years of his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, winning two MVPs and a championship with the team.But he’s off to Miami now and it’s time for the Bucks to bring some new life into their organization as they begin a rebuild and the haul they received in exchange for Antetokounmpo will go a long way in making that happen.One thing they received in that trade haul was the draft rights to the Miami Heat’s 13th-overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, which brought them Nate Ament, a talented small forward out of Tennessee.Ament is in the unique and unenviable position of facing inevitable pressure of replacing Antetokounmpo considering that not only was he the first player to be drafted with a pick that came in the Antetokounmpo deal, but he fits both the positional and physical requirement for the Bucks to replace Antetokounmpo on the court.It’s a massive amount of pressure to place on any rookie, but Ament isn’t about to back down. In fact, he embraces the challenge and is choosing to embrace what his role and expectations will be. It also helps that he’ll be entering the NBA with Brayden Burries, the Bucks’ 10th-overall pick, to give him some help along the way.”I really wouldn’t say it’s much extra pressure.. Luckily I’m not going at it alone… We’ve got big shoes to fill over there in Milwaukee. It’s just a tremendous opportunity for me and Braden [Burries]. If anything, I see it as opportunity and not as pressure,” Ament said (via Zach Gelb).That kind of confidence is exactly what the Bucks want to see out of their new young stars and it bodes well for what Ament will be willing to do to make the Bucks competitive.The good thing about a rebuilding team is that there may not be a lot of pressure on the Bucks as a team to get back to their winning ways straight away and right now it may be more important for the new Bucks, Ament included, to find a rhythm with each other than to try and force their way back to a championship too soon.That at least should lessen some of the pressure that’s placed on Ament and Burries, but based on Ament’s comments, pressure may not even be a problem in the first place.      ​Read More
