Mark Williams isn’t going anywhere.
The Phoenix Suns starting center, a restricted free agent, plans to sign a three-year, $38 million contract to return to the team, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Williams, a former 15th overall pick for the Charlotte Hornets, joined the Suns last offseason via a draft night trade. He quickly developed into a quality starter for the Suns, who reached the playoffs via the NBA play-in tournament and got swept in the first round by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Williams’ main issue last year was a foot fracture that forced him nearly all of March. Health has been an issue in general for Williams, who has yet to appear in more than 60 games in a single season.
The deal gives the Suns a clean sweep of re-signing their priority free agents, as they retained Collin Gillespie on a four-year, $48 million deal last week, then kept Jordan Goodwin on a three-year, $19 million deal.
Their might be some bigger questions for the Suns to answer, but they are now set to bring back basically every major contributor from last year’s team.
