But according to a California Post article, Westbrook will not head to South Florida if James does.”Everybody is awaiting The Decision 2.0 from LeBron James — including another future Hall of Famer on the market,” wrote Stefan Bondy.”According to a league source, Russell Westbrook is a candidate to join the Heat but not if LeBron signs in Miami.”Westbrook was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2021, apparently at the behest of James. It was hoped that his addition would bring another NBA championship to L.A., but he didn’t fit in, and a combination of that and poor roster construction resulted in the team missing the play-in tournament during the 2021-22 season.James’ camp started to push for Westbrook to be traded before long, and he was sent out in February 2023 for D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt. Since then, the guard has played for three different teams.He averaged 15.2 points on 42.7% shooting, 5.4 rebounds and 6.7 rebounds a game this past season.
