A former Nebraska standout announced on Friday that she is extending her professional volleyball career. Jordan Larson revealed on social media that she will return to play for LOVB Nebraska for the 2027 season. The news comes after Larson initially announced her retirement ahead of the 2026 season in January, following her final match in early April. She also had her LOVB Nebraska jersey retired, making her the first player to receive the honor. Now, Larson plans to enter her third season with LOVB Nebraska while continuing her duties as the team’s co-owner.
Last season, Larson finished among the top six in League One Volleyball across three categories. She placed fifth in kills with 234, sixth in points with 267, and fourth in aces, leading the team in that category. Her standout play earned her the 2026 LOVB Best Outside Hitter award and a spot on the league’s Icons First Team.
Larson’s decision to return means her long and storied volleyball career continues, now spanning more than two decades. At Nebraska, she helped the Huskers secure the 2006 national championship and concluded her collegiate career as a three-time All-American. Her No. 10 jersey was retired in 2017, and she was inducted into the Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020.
Beyond college, Larson is a four-time Olympic medalist and was the first player to reach that mark in USA Volleyball history. She helped the United States win gold at the Tokyo Olympics, where she was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter. She also contributed to silver medals in London and Paris and a bronze in Rio. Additionally, Larson has a world championship title and multiple triumphs in Volleyball Nations League and club world championships.
