Nebraska finally shifted in USA TODAY Sports bowl game projections after spending the first four weeks in a matchup with North Carolina State in the Pinstripe Bowl. The Huskers are now projected to take on former Big 12 rival Missouri in the Music City Bowl.This would be the first clash between the schools since Nebraska left the Big 12 after the 2010 season. Missouri then left the Big 12 the following year, joining the SEC. Now, both teams have a chance to face each other again after 16 years.Nebraska is 5-0 for the first time since 2016, picking up wins over Michigan State and Maryland to continue its best start to a season in a decade. Missouri is 4-1 but is No. 14 in the rankings after a massive 45-17 home win over then No. 8 Florida. The Tigers’ only loss came to then-No. 24 Mississippi State, 31-24, on the road.However, Nebraska now enters its gauntlet portion of the season with No. 7 Indiana, No. 13 Oregon, No. 5 Ohio State and No. 20 Iowa left on the schedule. Meanwhile, Missouri is in the midst of its gauntlet, with two ranked games under its belt.
