​The Brooklyn Nets, like every other team in the NBA, had to wait to find out what their entire schedule for the 2026-27 season would look like, but Thursday delivered. Brooklyn is still rebuilding heading into this upcoming season and while they are looking to win as many games as possible, there are some around the league who believe this will be yet another tough season.”It might be hard to believe that one of the few teams contending for the league’s worst record caused an internal struggle here,” Andy Bailey wrote of the Nets for Bleacher Report. The outlet predicted that the Nets would finish with a 22-60 record which would be better than their campaign last season (20-62), but still likely to put them among the worst-performing teams in the league.”Twenty feels low for a team that will have Michael Porter Jr., Julius Randle and developing younger players Egor Demin and Day’Ron Sharpe, but there isn’t much proven talent on the roster beyond that,” Bailey continued on what Bleacher Report feels about Brooklyn’s prospects for winning. “And with the rest of the East beefing up over this summer, it’s hard to find many other teams that are going to be shoved to the end of the standings.”As of this writing, the Nets are likely to head into next season with the starting lineup of rookie Mikel Brown Jr., Egor Demin, Michael Porter Jr., Julius Randle, and Day’Ron Sharpe. The biggest move that Brooklyn made this offseason was acquiring Randle from the Minnesota Timberwolves, a trade that unfortunately sent center Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls to make everything work.As Bailey alluded to, the Eastern Conference has only gotten stronger with LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers and Kawhi Leonard potentially joining the Toronto Raptors via trade.
