​Injuries are an unfortunate part of the NFL, and no team may have lost more star power over the last two weeks than the New York Giants. In Week Two, they saw their starting quarterback, Jaxson Dart, go down with a severe knee injury that will cost him the rest of the 2026 NFL season. On Monday morning, Ian Rapoport of ESPN and the NFL Network reported that the Giants believe he has torn his ACL:#Giants star pass-rusher Brian Burns is believed to have suffered a torn ACL, sources tell me and @AdamSchefter.Burns, who played Sunday through ankle pain, now has a major knee injury. Burns, who was a Second Team All-Pro last season, has not missed a game since 2020.In 2025, Burns had a career-high 16.5 sacks and made his third career Pro Bowl. While he had not yet recorded a sack in 2026, he is a vital piece of the pass rush as his presence draws double-teams from opposing offensive lines, which opens the door for his teammates to generate pressure on quarterbacks.Going forward, New York is going to have to try and find a way to go on without him if the ACL tear is confirmed.
