NFL analyst suggests Falcons trade for Broncos wide receiver

The Atlanta Falcons have a few weeks before training camp officially starts, which gives general manager Ian Cunningham enough time to make a few last-minute roster tweaks. After handing out extensions to Drake London and Kyle Pitts, the Falcons have roughly $37 million in salary cap space. That’s enough money to sign a veteran wide receiver, such as Stefon Diggs or Deebo Samuel. The team could also look to explore the trade market.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBleacher Report’s Moe Moton suggested one trade for all 32 NFL teams ahead of the 2026 season. For the Falcons, B/R listed Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. as their ideal trade target.”Denver acquired Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins. Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin have a strong rapport with quarterback Bo Nix,” wrote Moton. “The coaching staff could look to further develop second-year wideout Pat Bryant. Mims knows this year could be his last in Denver. Atlanta can speed up the process and acquire him to address a glaring roster need.”Mims, a former second-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft, had a career-high 503 receiving yards during the 2024 season. However, he struggled last season despite receiving roughly the same amount of targets. With Waddle in the mix, things are unlikely to get much better for Mims in Denver. The Falcons signed Jahan Dotson to help replace Darnell Mooney this season. While Dotson will likely start at the No. 2 wide receiver spot, his track record doesn’t inspire much confidence.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementRookie Zachariah Branch should also be in the mix, but considering he’s a bit undersized, the former Georgia standout could begin his NFL career in the slot. The Falcons have the makings of an elite offense, but a lack of depth at the wide receiver position could come back to bite them.Mims is an interesting option who could help the team in 2026. And since Cunningham hasn’t shied away from trades thus far, so we wouldn’t rule it out. This article originally appeared on Falcons Wire: NFL analyst suggests Falcons trade for Broncos wide receiver
