​Jerry Rice is one of the many athletes and celebrities who played the 2026 American Century Championship last weekend. Rice finished 42nd, which was one spot behind Carson Daly and one ahead of AJ Hawk. Rice might have done better, but someone was making noise during his backswing.In a wild scene caught on tape, a patron was heard talking as Rice teed off on a hole. Rice quickly turned around after his swing and started looking for the culprit. Sensing danger, the heckler took off. Rice went under the rope and jogged after him asking other patrons to help identify the person who did it.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt looks like Rice caught up to the guy and had a quick word before returning to the tee box to continue his round. In a heartening show of support, the other fans cheered as Rice returned.There’s a lot to love about this video. Especially the patrons cheering for Rice for going after the heckler. It’s also worth celebrating the young fan who took the video. As a parent you have to be proud knowing he didn’t just take off to keep filming what could have theoretically become an ugly situation.Having said that, as a blogger, I’m kind of upset he didn’t sprint after the NFL Hall of Famer to get the entire confrontation on tape. There’s no shame in being outrun by Jerry Rice, but you’ve got to at least try next time.
