​The Washington Commanders were on the field for another day of training camp on Wednesday. Not long after practice ended, reports emerged that the Commanders were signing four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs.This move has been rumored for a while, especially after talk cooled on Washington potentially signing Brandon Aiyuk if/when he was released by the San Francisco 49ers. Diggs has said multiple times he’d like to play for the Commanders, and said there was no better WR2 than him in the NFL. Just last season, Diggs led the AFC champion New England Patriots with 85 receptions, 1,013 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Diggs is a DMV native, having played at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland before starring at the University of Maryland. It’s a terrific addition for quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin. Diggs is also another weapon for offensive coordinator David Blough.
