In April, the Cup drivers stayed home on Easter Sunday, but O’Reilly and Truck competitors ran at Rockingham on that Friday and Saturday.There will not be another off week for the Cup guys until mid-November, after a 2026 champion has been crowned.The only adjacent action will be IMSA’s six-hour Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America on Sunday. NASCAR owns that league.Why is there no NASCAR race this weekend?Unlike the Easter pause or the two-week Olympic break in 2024, there’s no special reason for this one. It’s just the equivalent of a bye week in football.It’s an opportunity for teams to fuel up for the final month of the regular season and the upcoming playoff grind.When is the next NASCAR race? Schedule turns to IowaThe break won’t last too long, though. The Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series return next weekend at Iowa Speedway, a 0.875-mile oval track in Newton. O’Reilly kicks things off with the HyVee Perks 250 at 5 p.m. Aug. 8. Cup follows with the Iowa Corn 350 at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 9.
