Notre Dame 2027 legacy commit shuts down idea of a home state flip

The high school football season is close to getting started, and for Notre Dame, it is interested in how its commits are progressing along with how the top targets are performing. One of the Irish’s top 2027 verbals is legacy wide receiver Julius Jones Jr., who just committed on June 22nd. With his father Julius also playing for Notre Dame, the match was one meant to be, but that isn’t stopping in-state Miami from trying to get him to flip.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Hurricanes were the only other team to receive an official visit from Jones, so you have to believe they were his runner-up. On Tuesday night during a camp run by former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, he was spotted wearing Miami gloves. The good news for Notre Dame is that Jones quickly went to social media to dispel any idea of a flip, with a simple message: #goirish. As one of the highest ranked players in the class, No. 77 overall in the 247Sports Composite, he’s a key component of the group. It does look like the Irish will have to continue to try and fend off Miami until signing day.Contact/Follow us @IrishWireND on X (Formerly Twitter), and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Notre Dame news, notes, and opinions.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFollow Mike on X: @MikeFChenThis article originally appeared on Fighting Irish Wire: Notre Dame 2027 legacy commit shuts down idea of a home state flip
