​After six fruitful months in Ligue 1, Allan Saint-Maximin (29) confirmed his exit from RC Lens at the end of last month. He has since sealed a move to MLS club Charlotte FC on a free transfer, with the news announced on Monday. Saint-Maximin joined Lens last February after his contract with Mexican side Club America was terminated, and he delivered an impressive run in the second half of the season. In 13 appearances for Les Sang et Or, he scored four goals and supplied three assists, making a significant impact for the northern club.
During his time with Lens, Saint-Maximin helped win the Coupe de France, securing the first major trophy of his career. Despite his contributions, the winger did not agree to a contract extension at Stade Bollaert, departing on a free transfer once his short-term deal expired. The former Newcastle United player is set to return to North America, where he will join Charlotte FC. He has agreed to a three-year Designated Player contract with the United States club.
