Okoli agent: ‘Leicester City understand his ambition and ready to let him go’

Leicester City acknowledges Caleb Okoli’s ambitions and is prepared to allow him to move on. Italy international Okoli, whose name has been linked with Monza and Torino, is the focus of interest as his agent confirms: “Leicester City understands his desire to compete in a more prestigious league.” A product of the Atalanta academy, he joined Leicester City in the summer of 2024 for €14m plus add-ons.
The central defender has not been able to prevent Leicester City’s relegation to League One, which has intensified talk of a return to Italy. Okoli’s agent, Alessandro Barison, told Tuttomercatoweb: “We are awaiting a response from Leicester. Some calls and proposals have already come in, and we are evaluating the best path for him and the club. Caleb is happy at Leicester but he also wants to play in a higher level, and Leicester City understand that ambition. They know he deserves a different journey and are prepared to let him leave, either on loan or via a permanent sale.”
Interest from Serie A has grown, with Torino and newly promoted Monza among those monitoring the defender. Barison added, “We’re seeking a project that can restore Caleb to the level he deserves. We also need proposals that satisfy Leicester, who invested in him.” Okoli is set to celebrate his 25th birthday later this month and remains under contract with the Foxes until June 2029.
Okoli has trained with Italy’s senior squad and previously starred for the Under-21 side, earning 14 appearances at that level. His loan spells include stints with SPAL, Cremonese, and Frosinone.
