Rivals has updated its recruiting rankings for the 2027 cycle, revealing a fresh edition of the Rivals300. In this update, five prospects earned five-star status, led by Harper Woods, Michigan, wide receiver Dakota Guerrant. Already recognized as the top recruit in Michigan, Guerrant is continuing to establish himself as one of the nation’s elite talents. The Oregon commit cracks the list at No. 22 overall, and he is among a select group of just three receivers to achieve five-star status in this latest ranking cycle.
Standing 6-foot-1.5 and weighing 200 pounds, Guerrant enjoyed a standout junior season. He totaled 55 receptions for 1,074 yards and 17 touchdowns, showcasing his significant impact as a receiver. On the defensive side of the ball, Guerrant contributed as a defensive back, recording 40 tackles, three interceptions, and nine pass breakups in 2025. As Guerrant enters his senior year, he remains one of the Midwest’s most feared players and will finally compete as a five-star recruit this fall. His Harper Woods team is projected to be a strong contender, entering the 2026 campaign ranked No. 24 in Michigan according to the Rivals Composite Rankings.
Guerrant committed to Oregon head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks on June 16, choosing the Big Ten program over other finalists, including his in-state rivals in Michigan. “The coaching staff is filled with great people and people that want you to be the best,” Guerrant told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong about his decision. “They’re elite at everything.”
Guerrant is part of a stellar receiver class slated to head to Eugene. The Ducks have already secured commitments from five-star WR Xavier Sabb, top-100 athlete Tae Walden Jr., and three-star WR Malachi Garlington. With Guerrant on board, Oregon’s class currently sits No. 3 in the national rankings and No. 1 in the Big Ten, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Rivals’ Allen Trieu evaluated Guerrant as a prospect, highlighting his all-around skill set and impact versatility. He described Guerrant as a highly skilled, productive receiver who has been a major varsity contributor since his first year. Guerrant has made an impact at multiple positions, including wide receiver, return man, occasional quarterback, and defensive back. Trieu noted Guerrant’s savvy, smart route-running, fluidity, and agility, complemented by exceptional ball skills. Guerrant excels at making contested catches, displaying strong body control near the sideline and the ability to stay in bounds and keep plays alive. While Guerrant does not possess verified top-end speed, his elusiveness and open-field ability compensate by enabling him to create separation and produce in clutch moments. Trieu emphasized Guerrant’s hyper-competitive nature and his tendency to rise to big moments, along with above-average physical measurements and elite positional skills and intangibles.
As Guerrant enters his senior season and Oregon’s blueprint under the current staff continues to take shape, the national attention surrounding his five-star elevation is expected to grow. The combination of Guerrant’s established production, versatility, and high ceiling makes him a cornerstone piece for Oregon’s 2027 class, as the Ducks aim to blend elite talent with a cohesive, adaptable offense that can leverage Guerrant’s skills in multiple packages and formations.
