Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.The player to be named later in the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox trade deadline blockbuster involving catcher Adley Rutschman has been revealed. In addition to the three other prospects (RHP Anthony Eyanson, RHP Kyson Witherspoon, OF Enddy Azocar) the Orioles acquired in exchange for Rutschman, they’ve also added a second outfielder. According to MLB.com’s Brian Murphy, Baltimore acquired 18-year-old Harold Rivas from the Red Sox. “Rivas was the No. 32 prospect in the 2025 international signing class. He was Boston’s No. 13 prospect this year and is now the Orioles’ No. 26 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline,” Murphy wrote Wednesday. Rivas adds to the large prospect haul the Orioles received from the Red Sox for Rutschman, a former first overall pick and three-time All-Star. The #Orioles have acquired OF Harold Rivas from the Red Sox as the PTBNL in the Adley Rutschman trade, per @ByAndrewParker.Rivas, 18, hit .241/.343/.429 with 6 HR, 19 RBI, and 23 SB in the FCL this season.
