Over the last few days, the rumors surrounding LeBron James heading to the Indiana Pacers have picked up steam. A Sports Illustrated article suggesting a pathway to making the move happen was the start of the drama.Tyrese Haliburton decided to troll NBA fans with a post he made on Wednesday, July 15 as well.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement”Tomorrow it’s time @KingJames,” Haliburton posted on X.While speculation immediately began circulating about James taking his talents to Indiana, Haliburton’s post had an entirely different meaning. He will be co-hosting a live podcast with James on Thursday, filling in for legendary point guard Steve Nash. No, James is not coming to the Pacers.According to a report from NBA insider Scoop B, an Indiana source has made it clear that James is not being pursued by the Pacers.“Would it be great if we had LeBron? Yeah it would,” one Pacers source told Robinson. “But we don’t need LeBron James. We don’t need him with the youth we have on the roster. We are trying to make a name for ourselves.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt’s always good to dream. The idea of LeBron heading to Indiana actually does make sense from a basketball fit perspective. However, him playing for the Pacers doesn’t.James seems to be down to just a few teams. The Cleveland Cavaliers remain the clear front-runners for another reunion with LeBron. After the Cavaliers, the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers also seem to be in the running.Another team to watch could be the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have been very open about their desire to sign James.Only time will tell what James decides to do and where he chooses to take his talents. He could still shock the world and pick Indiana, but that doesn’t seem close to reality at this point in time.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementExpect to hear more about James’ decision in the coming hours and days. A decision is likely coming near, but Pacers fans should not get their hopes up.To put it lightly, James has a 99.9 percent chance of picking a different team when all is said and done.
