(Photo by Cooper Neill/Getty Images) | Getty Images It’s almost time for the Green Bay Packers to get their Week 8 game underway. About 24 hours after first pitch of Game 5 of the World Series, the Packers will try to get a win in a game with significantly less stakes than the Milwaukee Brewers’ championship-clinching contest. Still, this is an important game for the Packers, who would love to end the night two games above .500 rather than falling to 4-4 on the season. It’s also a big one in terms of playoff potential, both for the record and for possible NFC seeding tiebreakers. The Carolina Panthers could be in contention for a playoff berth as well; they currently lead the NFC South at 3-3, so they also need a win to maintain their lead.Join us here to discuss Packers-Panthers this evening and Go Pack Go!Join the conversation!Sign up for a user account and get:Fewer adsCreate community postsComment on articles, community postsRec comments, community postsNew, improved notifications system!Download the SB Nation app on iOS or Android.
