Penn State has a few different positions that they are heavily invested in for the future. They secured a handful of commitments from cornerbacks, although some have since changed their minds, and wide receivers as well. One of the areas the school hasn’t made much progress on is the defensive line, but they just landed one of the best in the nation today.. Four-star edge rusher Elijah Guertin was welcomed to Penn State’s campus this weekend with a large group of other high school recruits as the school attempted to persuade them to join. It became apparent quickly that the coveted pass rusher was a good bet to join the Nittany Lions after 247Sports insider Brian Dohn predicted that he would commit.. Advertisement. Advertisement. Guertin now becomes the second four-star defensive lineman picked up by Penn State in recent months, helping to begin the formation of a potentially dangerous pass rush. The newest commit stands at 6-5, 255 pounds, while he’ll be expected to line up with fellow commit Stanley Montgomery, a 6-3, 300-pound beast on the inside.. The Nittany Lions are used to sending superstar pass rushers to the NFL, like New York Giants first-round pick Abdul Carter or Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons. It could be back-to-back years without a defensive lineman of that caliber, so the team hopes Guertin or Montgomery can fill those shoes. Opposing quarterbacks beware if these two giants get a chance to team up on the line.. Advertisement. Advertisement. Advertisement. FollowNittany Lions Wire on X andFacebook..
