While acknowledging that she had never really spoken to DiJonai Carrington and held no personal grudge against her, she suggested that something beneath the surface may have driven the play.“Clearly, I think it was unnecessary. I’ve never really spoken to her and have no beef with her, but I guess she has some pent-up stuff,” Sophie Cunningham told the media after the game.Meanwhile, Fever head coach Stephanie White, who did offer a defense of Carrington’s intention, said she did not think the Chicago Sky forward intended to hurt Cunningham.
