​OXFORD — Ole Miss football running back Kewan Lacy’s status remains uncertain for Week 4 vs Florida.Ole Miss coach Pete Golding provided an update on Lacy’s injury status on Sept. 21, two days after Lacy injured his left shoulder vs LSU. He framed what Ole Miss learned in its latest MRI as a positive.”Wasn’t nearly as bad as we thought it was,” Golding said. He said Lacy will be a game-time decision vs Florida.Lacy was injured in the third quarter of No. 6 Ole Miss’ 32-24 win over No. 11 LSU. The injury happened with 9:01 remaining in the third quarter. Lacy rushed through the middle of the line on a 4-yard gain. LSU defensive tackle Deuce Geralds, a 285-pound freshman, made the tackle that put Lacy’s left shoulder into the ground.Lacy had surgery on his left shoulder in the offseason. He entered the 2026 season fully recovered from that, but he dealt with a thigh bruise in Week 1 vs Louisville that caused him to miss part of the second half. He played in Ole Miss’ Week 2 win over Charlotte.Lacy has 39 rushes for 191 yards and four touchdowns through the first three games.Not having Lacy in the backfield would be a big blow for the Ole Miss offense. Lacy rushed for 1,567 yards in 2025, which was No. 3 nationally. He also rushed for a program-record 24 touchdowns.Ole Miss (3-0, 1-0) will play at No. 22 Florida (3-0, 1-0) on Sept. 26 (2:30 p.m., ABC). The next week is an open week.Ole Miss football backup running backsMakhi Frazier, a Michigan State transfer, was the No. 2 running back for Ole Miss in Week 1 and Week 2.Frazier had nine carries for 38 yards through the first two weeks but did not play against LSU. He was questionable on the initial injury report but was upgraded to available before the game. Golding said Frazier’s absence was injury related.JT Lindsey, a sophomore LSU transfer, got the most carries of any running back behind Lacy in Week 3.
