Seven was the lucky number for three of the teams on the Pharm, with Lehigh Valley, Reading and Jersey Shore all winning their games with seven runs scored. Here’s how the games went on Thursday night.
Lehigh Valley 7, Syracuse 3
The ‘Pigs took an early lead in the first that they never surrendered behind a Chuck King gem. He allowed just two runs (one earned) over six innings. On the offensive side, it was the Moore show with a combined six hits and four runs scored for Dylan and Robert. Felix Reyes and Carter Kieboom combined for four RBI. Despite collecting 11 hits, the ‘Pigs had just one go for extra bases, a double for Robert Moore.

Reading 7, Altoona 4
The Fightins fell to an early deficit in the first, but rallied behind a combination of small ball and two solo homers to get the win in a back-and-forth game. Alex Binelas hit his team-leading 17th homer of the season. Daniel Harper for his first save of the season with Reading.

Jersey Shore 7, Brooklyn 5
Devin Saltiban had a big night at the plate with a home run and a double, collecting three RBI along the way. Nick Biddison and Brandon Lewis each had 2 RBI to power the ‘Claws to the win. Gabe Craig gave up two hits, but struck out four in 1.1 innings of relief.

Clearwater 3, Jupiter 8
There’s never a good result when a team has more strikeouts than hits in a single game, which is what happened in this one for Clearwater (7 and 5, respectively). Seven earned runs against starter Brad Pacheco in jsut 3.1 innings put the Threshers in a deep hole that they couldn’t overcome. The bullpen combined for 5.2 innings of 1-run relief, including five strikeouts for James Tallon – a career high.
